Methodology

How the Majir calculator works

The calculator explores a yearly savings scenario from a few inputs. Its rates and dollar values are assumptions, not measurements of your inbox.

The formula

Offer component = emails per week × 0.35 × $4.20 × 52

Round to the nearest dollar, then add $18 per loyalty program. Cap the combined total at $2,400 per year.

The model assumes 35% of promotional emails contain a usable offer, assigns $4.20 to each modeled offer and annualizes over 52 weeks. The $18 loyalty allowance is also an assumption. These amounts are in USD; they are not verified offer face values.

For example, 15 emails a week and 3 loyalty programs produce $1,201 per year in the model. The cap limits the displayed scenario; it does not establish an amount you can recover.

Inputs and categories

The homepage accepts 0 to 60 emails per week and 0 to 15 loyalty programs, with a neutral category multiplier of 1.

The detailed calculator also asks about shopping categories. It uses the average of the selected category weights to multiply the offer component before rounding. Personal care retains a weight of 1.15; Beauty and Home each use the neutral weight of 1. These are model assumptions, not measured category savings. The loyalty allowance is added separately, and the same combined cap applies.

Questions about the estimate

Does the estimate measure money I have saved?

No. It is a scenario built from your inputs and fixed assumptions, not measured redemptions or cash savings. Using an offer depends on its terms and what you choose to buy.

Why can the detailed calculator give a different result?

The homepage uses a neutral category multiplier of 1. The detailed calculator uses the average of the selected category weights for the offer component before rounding. Both add the loyalty component and cap the combined total at $2,400.
